Jeddah!

Hello all,

I am going to Jeddah today. This will be my last trip. I know I have made much noise about this being my last trip, but I think I will really sad about leaving Jeddah. I grew up there. It's always been home for me, even though we never really integrated into Saudi society. I always loved Jeddah, and I started liking it a lot more once I left school to study abroad. I am going to make the most of my short trip this time. I was making a list of places where I have to go and take pictures, which includes Al-Baik too (the best chicken place to eat!)

I shall be returning on the 16th of June. I am not sure if I will have time to blog when I am in Jeddah, since our evenings will be filled with attending farewell dinners!

If anyone is in Jeddah, and would like to meet up, let me know!

Mansur

  3. I have never been to Jedda, but from I read through your blog it seems like a nice place. May be I should visit next time I go to Mecca Inshallah.

  5. I've only been Jeddah twice and those were very brief stays - only half a day each time. I would love to stay there for a bit longer but when you're a traveller from the UK, its hard to resist the temptation to spend as much time as possible in Makkah & Madinah.

Last time we were in Jeddah, me and my wife went to a hijab shop for my wife to buy some hijabs, and we were talking to each other in English and i remember noticing that all the Saudi women were looking at us from behind their niqabs. It was strange because they were so obvious in staring at us.

I think they were staring more at me though. So next time i go back, i'll wear that same shirt... lol juuuust kidding!
