Mircale of the Quran?

Hey friends,

I received this email and it went directly to my junk email probably because it was sent as a mass forward email. However, I checked it out and it talked about the equality mentioned in the Quran. A certain Dr. Tariq Al Swaidan, who has way too much free time on his hands, studied the Quran and came across some startling discoveries.

---The Email I got is below---

Dr.Tarig Al Swaidan discovered some verses in the Holy Qur'an that mention one thing is equal to another, i.e. men are equal to women. Although this makes sense grammatically, the astonishing fact is that the number of times the word man appears in the Holy Qur'an is 24 and number of times the word woman appears is also 24, therefore not only is this phrase correct in the grammatical sense but also true mathematically,i.e. 24 = 24.

Upon further analysis of various verses, he discovered that this is consistent throughout the whole Holy Qur'an where it says one thing is like another. See below for astonishing result of the words mentioned number of times in Arabic Holy Qur'an

Dunia (one name for life) 115.

Aakhirat (one name for the life after this world) 115

Malaika (Angels) 88 . Shayteen (Satan) 88

Life 145 ...... Death 145

Benefit 50 . Corrupt 50

People 50 .. Messengers 50

Eblees (king of devils) 11 . Seek refuge from Eblees 11

Museebah(calamity) 75 . Thanks ! 75

Spending (Sadaqah) 73 . Satisfaction 73

People who are mislead 17 .D Dead people 17

Muslimeen 41 .J Jihad 41

Gold 8 .E Easy life 8

Magic 60 .F Fitnah (dissuasion, misleading) ! 60

Zakat (Taxes Muslims pay to the poor) 32 ....

Barakah (Increasing or blessings of wealth) 32

Mind 49 .N Noor 49

Tongue 25 .S Sermon 25

Desite 8 .F Fear 8

Speaking publicly 18 .P Publicising 18

Hardship 114 .... Patience 114

Muhammed 4 .S Sharee'ah ( Muhammed's teachings) 4

Man 24. Woman 24

And amazingly enough have a look how many times

the following words appear:

Salat 5, Month 12 , Day 365,

Sea 32, Land
13

Sea + land = 32+ 13= 45

Sea = 32/45*100q.=71.11111111%

Land = 13/45*100 = 28.88888889%

Sea + land 100.00%

Modern science has only recently proven that the water covers

71.111% of the

earth, while the land covers 28.889%.

Is this a coincidence? Question is that

Who taught Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) all this?
-----

Of course the email asks me and countless others to forward this email to as many people as I can to get the blessings from Allah. How much truth is there in this email? Is there really a dr. Swaidan who spent his time doing this research? I wonder how I can counter check his research. Any ideas out there?

good question - I have always wondered about these types of emails and have thus, refrained from forwarding them. Authenticity is a critical issue nowdays, especially because there is such a vast amount of information being passed, shared and believed minus any references or resources. Anyway, I think i'll post this question on www.ask-imam.com and see how it plays out.

Hey TUNED OUT!!! I have been meaning to get to you to let you know how much I appreciate you leaving all those tonnes of comments throughout the entire blog! I had such an awesome time reading your 20 or so comments at one time! I checked out your blog too, but could not leave any comments there.....it's been a delight to read your comments here, especially on the older articles!

Let me know if you hear from the Imam about the authenticity of this email I got.

First of all I would like to say its good to see such positive collaboration on this blog.

There are ways to verify those claims actually. I tend not to forward e-mails which ask me to keep forwarding. I personally use websites with search capabilities for example: al-islam.com , or alternativly I have my own Unicode formatted Quran. Which I should note is not an accurate representation of the Quran (Othman's copy)
All you need to do is conduct a text search. Of course you could run into issues like one word being written in one form in some place while in a different form in another.

Feel free to conact me if you have questions.

I once have listen to a type by Dr. Swaidan. He has some interesting things to say. However, thats about all I know. Being a religious scholar is a prestigous honor in Saudi Arabia ... So you one has to be skeptical.

Salaam Faisal,

I guess that would be something I need to do: to double check what Dr. Swaidan has found. I wonder if it would be the same case were he to take a different translation. I don't know. The main reason why I chose to speak about this was because sometimes I feel people like to do such things in order to convince them that Islam is right. It's like the case of girl who found Allah written in the cut tomato, or that photograph of trees lined up to form the Islamic creed. I wonder how much truth there is in all that.

Dear Mansur,

First of all I would like to tell you that I appreciate the fact that you are meticulous. It shows honesty with yourself and others. Unfortunatly many Muslims love to jump into conclusions.

There are many people who claim several findings about the Quran. Some are easy to verify , while others aren't. A topic which I find particularly interesting is mathmatical phenominons within the Quran. On my blog I have a link to a website I found interesting content within.

Fortunatly, your task is fairly simple. You can use regular word processing tools like MS Word or something to search for specific words like "Rijaal" and "Nisaa'".
To get the Unicode version check out this link http://www.sacred-texts.com/isl/uq/

There are other text versions of the Quran available. However, I believe this to be the closest to the originial text at least in terms of spelling/if you will. Since for example in Arabic you could write Al-Rahman in 2 ways:
الرحمنand الرحمان. The first one is more common in the Quran scripture. This of course would give you different search results.

Good Luck and feel free to contact me if you have more questions.
