By the year 2010, you wouldn't need to go to Las Vegas to enjoy the themed-hotels and entertainment, because another Las Vegas is coming up in Dubai! It's a 100 BILLION dirhams development project, aimed to create the world's longest hotel strip. It will include one of the world's largest hotel named Asia Asia. Hotels include "La Musica Hotel will offer guests the chance to live like their pop idols. The Holly Bolly Hotel will offer guests at taste of movie stardom from east or west." There will be 29,500 new hotel rooms made available. Dubai is expecting 15 million tourists to have come to dubai by 2016. The numbers are staggering. The figures seem exhorbitant. It's all very mind-boggling. I look at the project and I see how much more can be done with 100 BILLION dirhams! I mean, it's not even millions, but BILLIONS! I wish somehow this money could be used to help the crisis in Darfur, Sudan or other nations around the world.
My question is: do we really need a massive project like this right now?

I'm loving the economic boom currently taking place in Dubai. 100 billion dollar project here, another 20 billion one there.
It's truly the best in the Middle East.
every month mashreq bank makes one of their customers a millionaire. if that is happening, i guess 100 billion dirhams doesn't sound a lot then...
you all are so lucky, i'm starting to think that dubai might be paradise on earth. but vegas comes close. well maybe vegas is heaven AND hell, all at once.
