Movie :: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Hi people,

There is a new movie that is going to be out soon called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This movie is based on the book by Roald Dahl of the same name. It was a book that I had read several times in school and one that I immensely enjoyed. There was even a movie made in 1971, starring Gene Wilder. That movie always captured my imagination as I was led through the chocolate factory along with Charlie.

Here's the synopsis. A retiring chocolate factory owner, Willy Wonka, opens up his factory to five kids. All that the kids have to do to get into this awesome chocolate factory is to find a golden ticket in one of the five chocolate bars. Charlie, along with four other kids, find the golden ticket. They get to go inside the secret factory and we are shown how the factory operates-- by the weird oompah loompahs. However, along the way, each of the kids are eliminated in a fun and fashionable way, and we realize Willy Wonka's real intention of having the kids in the factory.

Chocolates and sweets!! Who can resist them? I can't. Which is why I am excited about the new movie, starring the chameleon actor Johnny Depp. Buzz reviews have been positive so far, and it came right onto the number one position in the US box office charts.

Gosh, I can even remember how there would be sweets in Jeddah called Nerds, that were made by the Willy Wonka corporation. There were others as well, such as Runts and so on. I remember one sweet which was like a ball, which you had to chew on, and after a few minutes, the color would change, and there would be several color changes in just one ball.

Ok, all this sweet talk is making me crave for some chocolates. Take care you all!!

Mansur
